We were invited to a preview of this year’s RSAF Open House, and with a carrot (a ride on a Chinook) dangled before me, I was quite happy to say yes. (The boys, having been through NS, were a little less excited, proudly informing me that they had ALREADY sat on the aforementioned aircraft in their army days. So I went alone…lor.)
The two best parts of going to the RSAF Open House in any given year are the aerial displays and aircraft rides, and this year is no different. I was treated to both, and in our usual fashion here on RediscoverSG I’ve cut a short video [above] to show how excited I was about both the displays and the ride in general… the ride was definitely pretty awesome (excuse the sua-ku female who never went to army and never got to ride on a Chinook la okay?).
Being a war film geek who keeps dreaming of making war movies, it was nice to stand in the fairground being surrounded by military aircraft and daydream about all the war movies I haven’t made (yet).
The RSAF Open House takes place this weekend at Paya Lebar Air Base. If you’ve not planned anything for the weekend yet, it’s a really good occasion for a family outing, especially if you manage to ballot for seats on the rides – definitely worth it.
